COSTA ESURI FROM FARO AIRPORT

Depending upon the Car Rental company you use, you may be still on the airport site or just outside at one of the major despatch depots.

From on site Car Rentals itself follow the road leaving the airport and at the roundabout (several large white statues on the roundabout) bear right onto the dual carriageway.

(If you were taken off airport to collect your car you will probably be the other side of this dual carriageway. In this case you have to follow the dual carriageway back towards the airport – about 0.5 mile. At the roundabout with the statues go right round and back the way you have just come).

Follow this road until it appears to finish (Don’t follow the first sign for a Motorway to Lisbon but if you do see below*). The road bears to the right and mergers with another road. Keep bearing right and you will be on a single carriageway road. Pass through some traffic lights and after about 3 miles you will approach the motorway to Spain.

The road becomes dual carriageway and you need to be careful as tit is not well sign posted until you reach the place it splits. KEEP TO THE RIGHT and take the right fork signed to ESPANHA.

Stay on this Motorway for approx 25 Miles where the road passes over the Guadiana River Bridge at the Portuguese / Spanish border.

Immediately over the bridge into Spain, take the first exit, signposted AYAMONTE. As you drive down the slip road off the motorway keep in the left lane to the roundabout (do not take the right lane which enters a slip road into Ayamonte).

At this roundabout go under the motorway (above) and take the next exit (to the right of the large Fadesa Industrial Unit) sign posted Costa Esuri Urbanization.

Follow this road straight to the roundabout at the end. The Costa Esuri Golf Club is straight on and you will turn right here into the development.

*You will have joined the N125 and will be heading towards the Motorway E01 (blue signs). This is signposted LISBON, but will lead you to the right (only) Motorway. After about 3 miles, as you approach the Motorway, take the entrance signposted SPAIN.

Don’t forget that Portugal is an hour behind Spanish time!

Return across the River Guadiana Bridge along the E01 Motorway. If you need to fill your car with fuel for the Car Rental I use the Motorway Services at Olhao and have always had sufficient fuel to pass as a full return.

Follow the signs to Faro Airport, the exit to the Airport is marked, and is after the first exit marked Faro. You can’t miss the large stadium on the right just before you leave the Motorway. There are two exits close together and you need the second one.
